Miki spent half his early life in London, England, half in Vancouver, Canada. In England he learned to love music and when he returned to Vancouver in 1980 he started playing. At first in various punk or alternative bands like Immoral Majority, The Subterraneans, and Dirt. He began to develop an interest in electronic and new age music while at university and after several years of work he wrote Internal Perspective, a new age ballet. While doing this he learned about recording and opened Skull Studios in Vancouver in 1998. The studio took up a great deal of time and it took until 2006 after the studio closed before he could finish Upgrade (an electronic album) and start work on Tech Rock (a dance / techno album).
